Claude Code reads its user settings from
$CLAUDE_CONFIG_DIRwhen that variable is set and ignores~/.claude/settings.json. Symposium still wrote its global hooks to~/.claude/settings.jsonand reported success, so for anyone who relocated their Claude config the hooks never ran.Global hooks now go to
$CLAUDE_CONFIG_DIR/settings.json, next to the user MCP servers and the plugins from #332. Without the variable nothing changes. Tests no longer readCLAUDE_CONFIG_DIRorXDG_CONFIG_HOMEfrom the developer's environment.Disclosure questions
