This repository is public and AGENTS.md says to keep private project names, paths and notes folders out of it. A scan of tracked files found leftovers; this removes them without changing what any test or script checks.

  • Three test strings (a storage key, a draft-state key and a window message name) came from a private downstream project. They are now made-up names: demo_custom_players, demo_draft_state, DEMO_AJAX and DEMO_OTHER. A storage class name in two tests (AppStorage) and the example screen name in the doc-tier comments of src/mcp/tools.ts ("Status Board") were swapped the same way.
  • Two design notes named a Windows home directory for the validation checkout; both now say <windows-checkout>\codegraph-win.
  • A benchmark note named a private workload that ran on the host; it now says "another job".
  • scripts/precision/bisect-case.sh defaulted its step logs to a folder inside the maintainer's notes directory. It now uses bisect-<corpus> under $XDG_STATE_HOME/codegraph (or ~/.local/state/codegraph), a per-user folder that stays the same from step to step. BISECT_LOGS still overrides it, and the script header says so.

Checked: the six affected test files pass (47 tests), tsc --noEmit and npm run check:agent-docs pass, and bash -n accepts the script. A final search of tracked files for the maintainer's account name outside this fork's own URLs, home and Windows user paths, notes-folder names, the private project's names and its storage and message keys finds nothing further.

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • Documentation
    • Replaced machine-specific paths and outdated examples with generic paths and names.
    • Clarified the default location for bisect logs.
    • Updated benchmark notes to reflect that another host job was active during interrupted runs.
  • Tests
    • Updated test fixture names and sample values; test behavior and assertions are unchanged.

…cript

Test strings for a storage key, a draft-state key and a window message name
came from a private downstream project; they now use made-up names. So do a
storage class name in two tests and the example screen name in the doc-tier
comments of src/mcp/tools.ts. Two design notes named a Windows home directory,
a benchmark note described a private workload, and
scripts/precision/bisect-case.sh logged under the maintainer's notes folder;
it now defaults to a folder under $TMPDIR (or /tmp), still overridable with
BISECT_LOGS.

Walkthrough

Tests use updated fixture names. Documentation and benchmark notes use revised examples and wording. The bisect script now uses a different default log directory.

Changes

Test Fixture Names

Layer / File(s) Summary
Literal fixture and query names
__tests__/kernel-retry-materialize.test.ts, __tests__/literal-capture.test.ts, __tests__/literal-seeds.test.ts
Fixtures, queries, and expected literal results now use demo_custom_players.
Other test fixture names
__tests__/ts-chained-receiver.test.ts, __tests__/ts-this-field-call.test.ts, __tests__/window-message-synthesizer.test.ts
Storage fixtures now use AppStorage. Message-synthesizer fixtures now use DEMO_AJAX and DEMO_OTHER.

Documentation and Examples

Layer / File(s) Summary
Benchmark run notes
docs/benchmarks/fork-vs-upstream-2026-09-26.md
The notes attribute run contention and a paused run to another host job.
Validation paths and code examples
docs/design/kernel-only-extraction-plan.md, docs/design/resolution-binding-model-plan.md, src/extraction/literal-capture.ts, src/mcp/tools.ts
Windows validation records use a generic checkout path. Source and MCP documentation examples use demo_draft_state and “Status Board”.

Bisect Log Location

Layer / File(s) Summary
Default log path
scripts/precision/bisect-case.sh
The default log directory is now codegraph under ${XDG_STATE_HOME:-$HOME/.local/state}. The BISECT_LOGS override remains unchanged.

Priority: ➖ Normal

Merge Risk: ⚪ Minimal · up to 01f73

Bisect logs now default to the user’s state directory, removing the prior shared-temporary-directory concern. No actionable merge-blocking risk remains in the reviewed changes.

Security Architecture Review

Security architecture risk: ⚪ Minimal · up to 01f73

The log destination remains user-scoped, and the explicit override is preserved. Comparing the previous and new script shows no change to execution privileges, log-writing behavior, or failure handling. No material security risk was identified as introduced or worsened by this change.

Retained concerns
No architecture-level concerns identified.

Security review details

Security Blast Radius

  • inferred — The changed operation is local diagnostic-log writing under the invoking process's existing filesystem authority. Its effective exposure depends on the selected directory's permissions and contents; the repository does not establish those runtime properties.

Trust Boundaries and Controls

  • observed — The caller's corpus argument and environment select the log path. Quoted filesystem operations are retained, but neither version validates destination ownership, permissions, or symlink status. These are pre-existing trust assumptions, not newly added security controls or a demonstrated vulnerability introduced by this PR.

Resilience and Maintainability Implications

  • inferred — Repeated runs for the same corpus and short SHA overwrite the same log, and concurrent runs can interleave output. There is no new locking, atomic publication, or interruption recovery. These limitations already existed at the former stable destination and are not worsened by the source change.

A predictable folder in shared /tmp can be pre-created by another user as a
symlink. The default is now bisect-<corpus> under $XDG_STATE_HOME/codegraph
(or ~/.local/state/codegraph), which stays the same from step to step.
