Problem

A UX audit of the app found broken actions, ways to lose unsaved work, unclear confirmations, failed loads that looked like empty lists, a cramped tablet layout, and icon buttons without accessible names.

Changes

Each commit is one block of fixes.

1. Bugs
   • Zones: "bulk add groups" did nothing. It now adds the groups.
   • Resource imports: the "view system" link was always disabled. It now opens the system.
   • Edges: editing any edge hid the one-time API key of the last new edge. The key now stays.
   • Drivers: the Modules tab showed only the first page of modules. It now loads all pages.
2. Unsaved work
   • Edit modals (26) ask before Escape, a backdrop click or X closes them with changes.
   • Edit modals cannot close while they save, and they now show the saving text.
   • Saving one settings level or metadata block keeps unsaved edits in the others.
   • The zone tree CSV import asks before it creates zones.
   • Bulk driver update starts with no drivers selected.
3. Feedback
   • Delete confirmations name the item and show a red "Delete" button.
   • Start and stop system confirmations name the system.
   • Error toasts stay open until the user closes them.
   • When a list fails to load, an error shows. Before, the list looked empty.
   • The sidebar does not say "No items" while the list loads.
4. Layout
   • Below 1024px, the item picker replaces the list sidebar, so the details pane keeps its width on tablets.
   • Placeholder text is easy to read in dark mode.
   • Popover menus close on Escape and when the page changes.
   • Logout moves to the bottom of the user menu.
5. Accessibility and text
   • Icon-only buttons get a name from their tooltip or from a label. Screen readers no longer read icon names such as "more_vert".
   • Hotkeys do not fire while a select or menu has focus.
   • Validation toasts show readable field names, for example "Check these fields: Name, Zone".
   • Typos and the wrong booking limit messages are fixed.
   • Zones has its own navigation icon.

I tested the layout and menu changes in mock mode (?mock=true) at 660px, 820px and 1280px, in light and dark mode.

Not in this PR:

• Translating the remaining hard-coded English text
• Buttons nested inside buttons
• Form labels that do not point to an input

Reviewed with sol-loop: 10 rounds with GPT-6.1-Sol.
