Original OpenCCU rootfs patch: 0151
Original filename: 0151-WebUI-Add-DeviceRestoreConfigButton.patch
Original patch: ``''https://github.com/OpenCCU/OpenCCU/blob/b8e2e496606e3eedd0dc1640975e3fa32790c0ac/buildroot-external/package/openccu-base/rootfs-patches/0151-WebUI-Add-DeviceRestoreConfigButton.patch''''
Original changes: OpenCCU/OpenCCU@e006b3c28 and OpenCCU/OpenCCU@4cd6a0fdb (close the progress bar in the homematic() callback)
Fixes before migration: OpenCCU/OpenCCU#4462 (button only for administrators, error handling of the restore request)

The device parameters page had no way to send the stored configuration back to a device, for example after restoring an older backup. This applies the patch, including the fix of OpenCCU/OpenCCU#4462:

  • src/webui/www/config/ic_deviceparameters.cgi:
    • New get_user_easylinkmode reads the user ID from the session and returns UserEasyLinkMode() of that user (default true). The session ID is checked by session_requestisvalid before the page is rendered; the lookup uses the same system.GetSessionVarStr('$session') pattern as cp_network.cgi and cp_software.cgi.
    • put_Header shows an additional "Restore Config" column (header ${thActions}) next to the firmware column. It calls RestoreDeviceParameters().
    • The column is only shown to administrators (REGA_SESSION(UPL) >= 8) without easy link mode (SHOWRESTORE), because Interface.restoreConfigToDevice needs LEVEL ADMIN. info exists covers the legacy session path without sid, which does not set REGA_SESSION.
    • The patch replaces the firmware <col> with an if/else block. Here, the firmware column keeps its width:15% from this repository; the new column has no fixed width. OpenCCU patch 0039 replaces these widths with <col /> as before, so the generated rootfs stays the same.
  • src/webui/www_source/config/js/ic_deviceparameters.js (the webui.js part): new RestoreDeviceParameters() shows a progress bar and calls Interface.restoreConfigToDevice for the current interface and address. The callback hides the progress bar; on an error it shows the HTML-escaped error.message (or error.text for an invalid response) in a MessageBox (title lblError), otherwise it runs CheckConfigPending().

The CGI keeps its ISO-8859-1 encoding and LF line endings. As in the original patch, the button label Restore<br/>Config is not translated. The variable HMRFIdentifier is not used here; OpenCCU patch 0161 uses it.

Workspaces of the earlier OpenCCU patches

Patch 0039 rewrites the <colgroup> of the header table, so its ic_deviceparameters.cgi hunk has to include the new if/else block. The OpenCCU cleanup PR will therefore add this change to the .orig and modified ic_deviceparameters.cgi and webui.js files of every earlier patch that touches them. After regenerating, only the colgroup hunk of 0039 changes in content; 0056, 0132, 0135 and 0138 only get new hunk offsets. Until that cleanup is merged, OpenCCU must not be bumped to a Base revision containing this change.

Validation

  • The CGI part applied with zero fuzz except the colgroup hunk, which was adapted to the column widths of this repository. The JavaScript part was inserted at the same position as in webui.js.
  • Applying the adapted CGI hunks of the fixed patch to main reproduces ic_deviceparameters.cgi of this branch byte for byte.
  • OpenCCU scripts/base-patch-migration.py validate with the canonical Buildroot 2026.08 git4 archive of this branch (d0be594c, sha256 1b34655370cf78ddcef6de07f4e7e74e3c90e0baf47c798b8cee67b631b147a6) and --skip-patch 0151, on the OpenCCU branch of fix(webui): show the restore config button only to administrators OpenCCU#4462 (current pin 17383a07, equal to main) with the refreshed workspaces described above: PASS (the other 45 rootfs patches apply with zero fuzz).
  • compare refuses this case because other patches change. The validation manifest (file types, modes and hashes of all 4666 entries) was therefore compared directly with a validation of the current pin 17383a07 with all 46 patches, including the fixed 0151 from fix(webui): show the restore config button only to administrators OpenCCU#4462: byte-identical.
  • The admin condition and the callback are covered by the tclsh and node tests described in fix(webui): show the restore config button only to administrators OpenCCU#4462.
  • The page was not run on a device.

OpenCCU cleanup PR (removing patch 0151, refreshing the earlier workspaces and updating the pin): pending until this PR and OpenCCU/OpenCCU#4462 are merged.

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • New Features
    • Added a Restore Config action that displays transfer progress and checks the configuration status when the transfer finishes.
  • Updates
    • The Restore Config action and its table column are shown only when EasyLink mode is off. The firmware column remains visible in both layouts.

Generated by Claude Code

Show a "Restore Config" button in the device parameters header for
users without easy link mode. It sends the stored configuration back
to the device via Interface.restoreConfigToDevice and then checks for
pending configuration data.

Replaces rootfs patch 0151-WebUI-Add-DeviceRestoreConfigButton of
OpenCCU.

📝 Walkthrough

The device parameter page now shows Restore Config only when the current user's EasyLink mode is "false". A new JavaScript function restores configuration to the selected device and checks for pending configuration after the callback.

Changes: Device parameter restore

Layer / File(s) Summary
EasyLink-based action visibility
src/webui/www/config/ic_deviceparameters.cgi
The page reads the current user's EasyLink mode. When it is "false", the page sets the Restore Config action and renders its table column, heading, and cell. The firmware column remains in both layouts. The interface identifier list adds BidCos-RF.

RestoreDeviceParameters() displays a transfer progress indicator, calls Interface.restoreConfigToDevice for the selected interface and address, then stops and hides the indicator and calls CheckConfigPending in the callback.

Some users can see a Restore Config button they cannot use, and a failed restore is not reported as a failure. These bounded issues warrant fixes or owner acceptance before merge.

Interface.restoreConfigToDevice needs admin rights, so only show the
button to administrators without easy link mode. Show the escaped
error message when the restore fails instead of checking for pending
configuration data.
