Follow-up to #214 (native migration of OpenCCU rootfs patch 0151), found by CodeRabbit in the review of the OpenCCU cleanup PR OpenCCU/OpenCCU#4466 and of this PR.

The "Restore Config" button of the device parameters page (src/webui/www/config/ic_deviceparameters.cgi) is shown to administrators without easy link mode for every interface. It calls Interface.restoreConfigToDevice, which only rfd implements:

  • rfd (BidCos-RF) registers restoreConfigToDevice (src/rfd/XmlRpcMethods.cpp, XmlRpcMethodRestoreConfigToDevice).
  • hs485d (BidCos-Wired) does not register it (src/hs485d/XmlRpcMethods.cpp). Its internal HS485Device::RestoreConfig() is only used when a device is replaced. A separate draft PR (hs485d: add the restoreConfigToDevice XML-RPC method #217) proposes the XML-RPC method for hs485d; it needs a test on Wired hardware first.
  • The HmIP server answers it with an error: LegacyServiceHandler.restoreConfigToDevice in opt/HMServer/HMIPServer.jar only throws a NotImplementedException. This covers HmIP-RF, HmIP-Wired and VirtualDevices (xmlrpc://127.0.0.1:39292/groups, served by the same server).

For devices on the other interfaces the button therefore always ended with an error message. The button, its column and its header are now only shown when the interface is BidCos-RF ($HMRFIdentifier), in addition to the existing conditions (admin, easy link mode off).

Workspaces of the OpenCCU patches

OpenCCU patches 0039, 0119, 0138 and 0161 contain these lines in their ic_deviceparameters.cgi workspaces.

Validation

  • The condition was tested in tclsh:
    • shown for BidCos-RF (admin, easy link mode off);
    • hidden for BidCos-Wired, HmIP-RF, HmIP-Wired, VirtualDevices, CUxD and for non-admins.
  • OpenCCU scripts/base-patch-migration.py validate with the canonical Buildroot 2026.08 git4 archive of this branch (fecadadc, sha256 ca6ac3e477f2b6529ebcc5ab2026d331e24a395821edb3f05e9dd9852370d1ad), on the branch of build(openccu-base): migrate patch 0151 OpenCCU#4466 with the refreshed workspaces: PASS (45 patches, zero fuzz).
  • The validation manifest differs from the one of build(openccu-base): migrate patch 0151 OpenCCU#4466 (pin fbf9ef66) only in www/config/ic_deviceparameters.cgi.
  • Not run on a device.

Generated by Claude Code

Interface.restoreConfigToDevice is only implemented by the BidCos-RF
and BidCos-Wired interfaces. The HmIP server (HmIP-RF, HmIP-Wired and
VirtualDevices) throws a NotImplementedException, so the button always
ended with an error message for these devices.

📝 Walkthrough

put_Header now checks restore-config availability only for BidCos-RF and BidCos-Wired interfaces. The session upload level must still be at least 8.

hs485d (BidCos-Wired) does not register restoreConfigToDevice either
(src/hs485d/XmlRpcMethods.cpp); only rfd implements it.

This also pulls in OpenCCU/OpenCCU-Base#216, merged after #214: the
restore config button is only shown for BidCos-RF devices, since only
rfd implements restoreConfigToDevice. The ic_deviceparameters.cgi
workspaces of 0039, 0119, 0138 and 0161 get the same change.
