Works for me. LGTM. Will merge later once I have lifted the commits from my fork to here. |

It's working for now with the "new" dll file. I hope it stands. Thank you for the help! |

Now, following the change made about an hour ago, I no longer get weather details when clicking on the taskbar. Only a blank (empty) white square appears. If I disable and re-enable the weather feature in ExplorerPatcher, the details come back. A mystery... |
|
No mystery if you're a programmer that understands how code works. |
Good for you if you're a programmer. It's not the case for everyone. Please, have that in mind. And as a programmer, we're all waiting for a fix that works. Untill then, have a good day. |

I had to replace the DLL and change the icon pack from Google to Microsoft |

This worked with me today, including after a restart. Thank you! |
|
You don't have to restart. Just disable weather. Replace the dll. Enable weather. |
|
Working for me too (once I changed icon pack to Microsoft). Thanks for fixing it! |
|
Thank you davids5 for the good file it works and everything is fine. |

I would like to make a suggestion. Can you include an option in EP to show the weather page as is? This would allow people to get past the google thinks you're a bot, so that cookies can be set. It would also allow you as a developer to figure out if the code on the website changed, without having to use OBS Studio to capture the frame showing the reason why it would show no internet connection, |

Well, the good old weather widget is on the fritz again. I noticed this afternoon that the location was missing. So foolish me, I restarted it. And once again we're at the check the network nonsense. There is brief moment before it crashes the complains about location. And FWIW, I deleted and reinstalled, tried the 'new' .dll from earlier this week, and the old local.state replacement. Nothing worked/made a difference. So once again if anyone has the magic, I'm all in. 😂 |
|
Did you try changing the icon pack from Google to Microsoft? |
It's set to Microsoft by default. Or it is in this latest version. |
We don't accept ai slop here. |
@mattc0406 I used your dll and settings. Like the other dll file, it works fine for me for less than 1 hour and then, I get a blank square when I want to see the details by clicking on the weather in the notification zone. |
|
I would not be using random dll's that people upload here. You don't know if they're safe. |
|
Completely understand your position on AI - but it's inevitable - I removed my post since it is having some kind of issues still - @davids5 also posted a file last week so make sure you tell him too @pyrates999 - I'll keep working on my fixes and keep it to myself - hopefully you developers can come up with a proper solution soon that doesn't use AI - it's been a issue for a few weeks now and no one seems to care to fix it - I was just trying to help out |
I would wholeheartedly agree. And FWIW, using the .dll from davids5 ended up working. And it took a while for it to finally work. I suspect that Google is/was doing something. So for now, no need , at least for me to use any .dll other than was davids5 has provided. |
|
@mattc0406 It's been an issue for years, if we consider #1334 . |
"ai" can't understand its own output. and it's a bubble waiting to pop. |
|
This fixed my issue too |
Would you mind elaborating on exactly what fixed your issue, and provide any links? |
scroll to the top to find the replacement dll for weather. |
Confirmed working: replacement I can confirm that the replacement System details:
Original problem: The ExplorerPatcher weather widget briefly displayed weather information, then switched to "Unable to load weather information." Clicking Reload repeated the same behavior. Google Weather worked correctly in Chrome, Chrome Incognito, and Microsoft Edge. Troubleshooting attempted:
None of these resolved the problem. Fix confirmed: After replacing the original This confirms an immediate successful fix on my configuration. I haven't yet tested long-term stability. Thank you for working on this! |
Recent changes in Google weather broke the last fragile fix.
