What is Fuego ?

Fuego Reserve is Le Maison de XFG, The Sovereign House of Sound Money and Protector of Private Purchasing Power. Operating on a decentralized blockchain network built upon the CryptoNote protocol for transaction privacy and proof-of-work consensus, with a fixed supply of 8 million, it enables value within the network ledger to inherit the same properties as XFG, and provides the sound-money assurance that any features built thereupon, need in order to offer private wealth services such as secure value storage, untraceable conveyance, preservation of purchasing power, on-chain exchange by pool or limit order, private in-house cross-chain exchange with 30 other networks, and access to yield through Certificates of Deposit (CDs) earning real yield from protocol revenue.

Developed & maintained by advocates for freedom through sound money, Fuego Reserve functions as a fully sovereign privacy blockchain banking network, freely providing an open-source alternative to the archaic tyranny also known as centralized banking. Through its decentralized design, Fuego Reserve is owned not by any β€œone” person, nor by any singular entity, government, or corporation. Instead through co-operation and the use of distributed consensus, Fuego is owned by The People- The Fire Mob - by all those who make use of it.

Fuego’s open-source peer-to-peer blockchain network is available online 24/7/365 and is freely accessible to anyone in the world with an internet connection - as a public tool for digital privacy, economic sovereignty, and financial freedom.

What is 𝐗𝐅𝐆 ?

XFG (β‚²) is an anti-fragile privacy money and accounting unit used within Fuego’s blockchain ledger. XFG is minted into existence through block rewards and distributed to miners in exchange for the processing power they contribute to securing Fuego’s blockchain with ASIC-resistant proof-of-work consensus, approximately every 8 minutes. Each XFG is divisible to 7 decimal places. Just like USD cents or BTC sats, each XFG can be referenced down to its smallest unit, called fire.

(β‚²0.0000001 = 1 fire)

All XFG transactions are private by default, much like cash compared to the tracking-by-default nature of credit and debit cards. Fuego Reserve adds transaction obfuscation through dynamic ring signature decoy sets (minimum 8, 16, or 32, up to the maximum allowed by transaction size limits) for maximum sender and receiver privacy.

Beginning with the v1.11.0 (HEATWAVE) release, all HΞžΞ”Ε¦, Hearth, LP, and CD transactions use a fresh commitment-based key image decoy pool. This ensures proper ring signature sets even on deposits and withdrawals, instead of leaking the depositor's keys to the public as the original CryptoNote deposit implementation does.

At the current network version, all transactions still use amount transparency so users can verify network supply data for themselves. This is especially important for new network features such as burns, fee pools, liquidity pools, and protocol-owned Treasury operations. Sound monetary systems function so fundamentally differently from central bank quantitative easing models that the need for insurance against bank failures, or against customer funds disappearing from corporate vaults, is eliminated. Rather than wasting resources insuring against the failure of a broken monetary system or centralized control model, sound money provides assurance instead. Assurance that the monetary system remains fully solvent and supply figures stay verifiable.

Once we stop associating money with the liabilities introduced by debt issuers or service provider insolvency, a great many things become possible. When people can trust that their money carries assurances of solvency, they no longer need to rely on faith. They can rely on the simple accounting of supply under the UTXO transaction model.

Unique features of Fuego include :

  • Hearth Floor, a block-discrete on-chain CLOB/AMM hybrid with adaptive-spread liquidity bands that batch-clears at volume-weighted average price (VWAP) each block;
  • HΞžΞ”Ε¦, an XFG-colored flatcoin pegged to purchasing power by tracking the US dollar’s rate of inflation since Q1|2009 to current. Minted only by burning XFG at a rate equivalent to current market value of each asset; determined by XFG priced in Ξ—ΞžΞ”Ε¦ (as TWAP) on Hearth.
  • Certificates of Deposit, term-locked ledger deposits made & paid in HΞžΞ”Ε¦; earning variable % yield based on each prior epoch's network activity and paid out from Treasury's CD yield pool. Based on fees from network activity ( Hearth trading fees & SwapXFG atomic swap fees)
  • SwapXFG (or DeXFG) , an in-house multi-chain currency exchange via p2p PTLC atomic swaps using adaptor signatures + DLEQ on all Fuego swaps, which keeps atomic swap transactions identical to standard XFG transactions with default privacy.
  • Protocol Owned Treasury, not really a rare screen in DeFi, per se, but for UTXO privacy chains (w/o smart contracts) …a bit unique. Not controlled by any DAO or multisig of any kind- pure protocol. Tracks & manages all fee pools and collateral reserves; plus automatic signing of interest payments to CDs withdrawing at the end of each 900-block epoch. (~5 days)

All network protocols function viably WITHOUT the corruption involvement of any governance, governments, or central banks- and furthermore is achieved WITHIN the 100% free & open-source software of Fuego Blockchain Bank, run by a worldwide community of peer-to-peer network nodes.

Unlike traditional fiat currencies issued by central banking cartels of our world, XFG is most accurately categorized as sound money for its privacy features, and its fixed- yet dynamic, money supply of β‚²8,000,008. And unlike even most PoW cryptocurrencies today, Fuego was designed to thrive within a disinflationary ecosystem; incentivized by transaction fees and reborn coinbase rewards from burns- ensuring security & block rewards for many future generations.

(*) Eldernodes are service nodes which earn a percentage for each txn they relay on Fuego network. For more info and a list of tutorials, see & contribute to our Guides section.

Fuego exists only as a result of open-source contributions and regular people like you & I running free (as in freedom) software on our machines. Whether it be an act of altruism, rebellion, or an act of freedom- our action is what matters. One could even escape the clutches of tyranny (were conditions as such) by simply choosing the routine action of accepting payment(s) in the form decentralized privacy currencies for any peer-based transactions already occurring from normal interactions of everyday, human life.
