#864 reported 111 test failures on FreeBSD. They came from three behaviors no hosted runner shows: FreeBSD refuses a no-follow open of a symlink with EMLINK (open(2)), has no renameat2, and without fdescfs lists only the standard streams under /dev/fd. #859, #866 and #877 fixed them, but nothing in CI keeps them fixed.

馃悺 A new job boots a FreeBSD 15.1 VM through vmactions/freebsd-vm, installs Python 3.15, tox and uv from FreeBSD packages, and runs tox's 3.15 environment. It runs unmeasured, like PyPy, so the 100% coverage gate stays with the hosted runners, and the required-checks gate now waits for it.
