KPDR safeties first beta release - #286

I got a request for documentation and I think that's a good idea. I'm going to try to add a new webpage, but not linked from the main page just yet. That way I can just post a wall of text there and reference it from discord instead of posting wall of text to discord. |

Is there a reason you don't use next-update? |

I don't know how deep you are into this, but I'm willing to make a new preset movie if it'll help this out. I expect we'll be moving away from the original data and it might be good to get things updated before then. |

I'm not putting in next update just because we might release next update before safeties. Regarding preset movies question, I'm expecting preset categories made with safeties will not be compatible with movies. Of course we can still have preset categories that don't use safeties and I expect a majority of our presets won't use them. Hundo doesn't need safeties. GT classic could have safeties but not sure it needs it. I'm only planning to add safeties to Any% KPDR and Any% Phantoon First, and eventually KPDR No Drops just because I want to (not sure when I'm going to get to that). |

This is getting close to release. I may add a little built-in setting, so for example you could pick "Mishrak" and it would select a bunch of safeties consistent with the Mishrak tutorial. I also need to remove the old KPDR/PRKD/PKRD presets. I also have an idea for recording inputs and RNG values that could be used in a playback. I want to be able to play/record a theory TAS on console and then play it back on BizHawk. However I'm expecting I will have to patch the prac hack in order to playback properly (I need those RNG values to be played back, but we don't have enough SRAM for a full playback so the RNG values will need to be stored in ROM). If I have to patch prac hack to playback, I might as well require a patch to record as well, so I'm expecting the theory TAS record and playback stuff to be a dev build option. I'm still hoping to include it in the 2.8.0 release so if I get it to work and make a video of what I did, it's at least possible for others to do it if they're willing to build the prac hack themselves. It won't be simple; I don't expect it to replace other methods of making theory TASes. I was just looking at ARealCutie's splice and thinking how much work it would be to make my own for No Drops KPDR, and then I had this TAS playback idea. It will still be a fair amount of work, but rather than it being a bunch of video editing that I'm bad at, on top of solving the 60.09 fps console vs 60 fps recording problem, I could instead playback on BizHawk, which will still require a bunch of manual steps but it at least seems plausible I could do it. I can also use a TAS I already have to test it. I can try inserting some save/load states to optimize Ceres timing, and then make the playback TAS do it without the saves and loads; I want it to look like how a theory TAS would look. |

My TAS record and playback idea is going to take more effort and won't be ready for the 2.8.0 release. I think the rest of this PR is ready and I just need to update version and release notes. I'm hoping it releases tonight. |
I should probably add a comment about the difference between an energy adjustment and a refill adjustment. Energy adjustments play nice with other safeties, but sometimes you need the refill adjustment which does an overwrite. Not sure where to put those comments though.
Also I expect there will be some adjustments before this is ready for release. I'd also like to add phantoon-first safeties, but probably not going further than that.
