Enable kind tests with tiny resource profile - #334
roxie needs to be able to deploy to kind clusters created in GHA. In particular, we need this ability for stackrox/central-login#621, where we spin up a kind cluster in CI e2e testing and deploy ACS to it.
There is no conceptual limitation in roxie preventing this, it is only made inconvenient due to there not being a resource profile that is sufficiently small for these clusters.
This PR introduces another resource profile named tiny, which is suitable for this purpose.
To prove that it works, this PR also adds Kind-based e2e tests.
There is one non-trivial change in this PR: We replace our hand-rolled DeepMerge with mergo, needed for being able to merge slices.
Summary by CodeRabbit
New Features
Added a tiny resource profile for Central, Scanner, and secured-cluster deployments.
End-to-end tests can select a resource profile; small remains the default.
Added end-to-end test runs in a Kind cluster for pull requests and main-branch builds.
Bug Fixes
Updated how deployment defaults and configuration overlays combine: overlay values take precedence, and slice values are appended.
It looks like this branch is under active development. To avoid overwhelming you with review comments due to an influx of new commits, CodeRabbit has automatically paused this review. You can configure this behavior by changing the reviews.auto_review.auto_pause_after_reviewed_commits setting.
This change adds Tiny resource profiles, updates resource merging and E2E profile selection, and introduces a reusable Kind workflow that runs E2E tests using a supplied image.

Summary
Merge behavior and validation internal/clusterdefaults/clusterdefaults.go, internal/helpers/helpers.go, internal/helpers/helpers_test.go
Cluster-default merging enables slice appending. DeepMerge uses mergo with override and slice-append options. Tests cover nested slice appending and replacement when the overlay and base types differ.
Adds Tiny settings for Central, Scanner V4 components, and Secured Cluster Sensor. Operator deployment applies the Tiny profile. The Small Secured Cluster profile sets admission control to one replica. Custom-resource builders copy the selected profile before merging it. Deployment functions log the selected profile. E2E arguments use ROXIE_RESOURCE_PROFILE, defaulting to small when unset or empty.
Kind E2E workflow and invocation .github/workflows/e2e-tests-kind.yml, .github/workflows/main-push.yml, .github/workflows/pr.yml
The reusable workflow extracts and installs the Roxie binary from a supplied image, creates a Kind cluster, and runs E2E tests with the tiny profile. Push and eligible pull request workflows pass the built image.

Read the resource profile from the ROXIE_RESOURCE_PROFILE environment
variable in e2e tests, defaulting to "small". This allows different CI
workflows to use different profiles (e.g. "tiny" for Kind clusters).

Print the resolved resource profile for Central and SecuredCluster

Add a reusable e2e-tests-kind.yml workflow that creates a Kind cluster
and runs the e2e test suite against it using the tiny resource profile.
The roxie binary is extracted from the already-built image. OLM tests
are skipped since Kind has no OLM.
Wire the new job into both PR and main-push workflows, running in
parallel with the existing GKE-based e2e tests.

We need to touch this function to support slice types, but instead of
restructuring the function to support slices, it makes much more sense
to drop it and settle on established packages.
Also, mergo is already a dependency.
@mclasmeier I’ll request a fresh review of all PR changes and check whether the previous findings are resolved. The workflow will recheck the current rate limit.

Keep explicit null overrides out of the merged CR.
Before this change, DeepMerge skipped nil overlay values at every level. The current call to mergo.Merge with WithOverride does not. In mergo v1.0.2, a nil value in the source map overwrites the destination entry, or adds a nil key when the destination has none. A null under central or securedCluster.spec can therefore replace a resource profile value, such as resources, with null in the generated CR. The operator can then fall back to its own defaults instead of the selected profile.
Skip nil values recursively before the merge. A top-level-only check misses the nested spec.central case.

Update DeepMerge to recursively exclude nil values from the overlay at every map
depth before calling mergo.Merge, so explicit nulls cannot replace or add merged
CR fields. Preserve the existing override and slice-append behavior for non-nil
values.

@mclasmeier Yes. An explicit null override can be useful when a user wants to clear a value supplied by a resource profile and let the operator apply its defaults.
My finding assumed that profile values must survive null overrides. That requirement was not established, so I withdraw the recommendation to filter out nil values.
One distinction: this merge sets the field to null; it does not remove the map key. The operator determines the effect of that null value.
