0.3.55 [2026-08-01]

Fixed

  • Avoid underflow in DateIter::nth, ensuring correct behavior.
  • Avoid overflow when deserializing timestamps.
  • Handle out-of-bounds data when deserializing.
  • Don't assume that the format being deserialized was generated by the serializer; this previously led to some valid values being parsed incorrectly and others being rejected.
  • No longer silence errors when deserializing UtcOffset.
  • OffsetDateTime::from_unix_timestamp_nanos and UtcDateTime::from_unix_timestamp_nanos correctly return None for all out-of-range values, rather than unexpectedly panicking in some situations.
  • OffsetDateTime::checked_to_offset and UtcDateTime::checked_to_offset correctly return None for all out-of-range values, rather than unexpectedly panicking in some situations.

0.3.54 [2026-07-20]

Added

  • PrimitiveDateTime has been renamed to PlainDateTime.
  • Duration has been renamed to SignedDuration.
  • Iteration is now possible over Date, Month, and Weekday. Relevant iterator methods have been overridden to ensure maximum performance.

For both PlainDateTime and SignedDuration, a non-deprecated type alias has been added for backwards compatibility. The new names should be preferred.

Changed

  • The associated metadata type (for powerfmt implementations) for various types has been changed to () and made public. This guarantees that no additional metadata will be present.

Performance

  • More gains when parsing RFC 2822.

0.3.53 [2026-07-01]

There are no publicly-facing changes in this release. It solely works around the cookie crate relying on an implementation detail of time that was never part of the public API (and thus subject to semver guarantees). The internal API has been reverted to the extent necessary for cookie to compile. This measure is temporary; the internal change will be re-applied in an yet-to-be-determined future release.

0.3.52 [2026-06-30]

Fixed

  • Subsecond values in the time! macro are parsed using the textual representation, ensuring accuracy. Previously, they were parsed using the floating point representation, which could result

[0.11.2] - 2024-02-13

[0.11.1] - 2024-01-27

Fixes

  • Allow styling with Target::Pipe

[0.11.0] - 2024-01-19

Migration Guide

env_logger::fmt::Style: The bespoke styling API, behind color, was removed, in favor of accepting any ANSI styled string and adapting it to the target stream's capabilities.

Possible styling libraries include:

  • anstyle is a minimal, runtime string styling API and is re-exported as env_logger::fmt::style
  • owo-colors is a feature rich runtime string styling API
  • color-print for feature-rich compile-time styling API

custom_format.rs uses anstyle via Formatter::default_level_style

Breaking Change

  • Removed bespoke styling API
    • env_logger::fmt::Formatter::style
    • env_logger::fmt::Formatter::default_styled_level
    • env_logger::fmt::Style
    • env_logger::fmt::Color
    • env_logger::fmt::StyledValue
  • Removed env_logger::filter in favor of env_filter

Compatibility

MSRV changed to 1.71

Features

  • Automatically adapt ANSI escape codes in logged messages to the current terminal's capabilities
  • Add support for NO_COLOR and CLICOLOR_FORCE, see https://bixense.com/clicolors/

Fixes

  • Print colors when is_test(true)

Updates diesel from 2.1.4 to 2.3.13

Changelog

Sourced from diesel's changelog.

[2.3.13] 2026-09-4

  • Fixed interaction between then_order_by and distinct_on to reject otherwise broken SQL queries
  • Fix a clippy::redundant_field_names lint warning generated by #[derive(QueryableByName)]
  • MySQL and MariaDB now decode a value according to the signedness the server reports for its column, so a SMALLINT UNSIGNED holding 40000 read as Integer returns 40000 rather than -25536
  • Potential stackoverflow on deeply nested JSONB values for the SQLite backend
  • Fixed a possible null pointer dereference in the custom SQLite aggregate function support when SQLite fails to allocate the aggregate state
  • Fixed undefined behavior in SqliteConnection::serialize_database_to_buffer when SQLite returns a null buffer for an empty deserialized database or an allocation failure. SerializedDatabase::as_slice is deprecated in favor of the new SerializedDatabase::try_as_slice, which reports the allocation failure as an error instead of panicking.
  • Fixed SQLite value reads to panic instead of creating invalid slices or returning incorrect data when SQLite allocation fails. Row iteration reports a failed value duplication as an error instead.
  • Fixed a use after free where reading a SQLite value in a second representation, for example a blob as text, invalidated slices another SqliteValue of the same field had returned. Such a read now works on a copy of the value.
  • Fixed broken prepared statement caching for queries using positional ordering and window functions with frame offset clauses
  • Fixed a potential panic while deserializing a PgInterval type from a too short buffer
  • Fixed encoding floating point values without a decimal part in a roundtrip safe way in SQLite's jsonb encoding
  • Fixed a potential panic while deserializing a PgInterval type from a too short buffer
  • Fixed potential code injections in the generated schema.rs file caused by malicious database identifiers

[2.3.12] 2026-08-07

  • Fixed FromSql/ToSql for chrono::NaiveTime on MySQL dropping the fractional-seconds component of TIME values, so a TIME(N) column now round-trips its microseconds like DATETIME / TIMESTAMP already did.
  • Extended libsqlite3-sys support to include 0.38

[2.3.11] 2026-07-10

  • Fixed several potential panics in PostgreSQL (de)serialization code
  • Fixed using .load() batch inserts and returning clauses on the SQLite backend
  • Harden usage of SqliteConnection::deserialize_read_only_database()

[2.3.10] 2026-06-05

  • Fixed a wrong value of a internal MYSQL flag
  • Fixed several possible panics in the PostgreSQL deserialization code for malformed packages in the
  • Fixed an issue that caused unexpected results while calling custom aggregated SQL functions twice in the SQLite backend
  • Fixed a potential use after free bug in the SQLite backend while deserializing a database from a byte buffer
  • Fixed potential invalid schema generation if column or table names "inject" rust code
  • Fixed potential SQL injections during schema introspection via diesel print-schema
  • Fixed a regression that resulted in rejecting valid combinations of ORDER BY and GROUP BY clauses

[2.3.9] 2026-04-30

  • Removed a dbg! statement from the Mysql backend that caused unwanted output
  • Fix a regression in #[derive(AsChangeset)] introduced in 2.3.8 where structs with a type or const generic parameter referenced in a field type failed to compile with error[E0425]: cannot find type 'T' in this scope. The diagnostic helper functions added to improve AsChangeset error messages now forward all generic parameters of the input struct, not only lifetimes.

[2.3.8] 2026-04-24

  • Added support for libsqlite3-sys 0.37.0
  • Raise a compile-time error when mixing aggregate and non-aggregate expressions in an ORDER BY clause without a GROUP BY clause
  • Calling .count() or .select(aggregate_expr) on a query that already has a non-aggregate .order_by() clause now raises a compile-time error instead of generating invalid SQL that would be rejected by the database at runtime (fixes #3815)
  • Added documentation for migration transaction behaviour at the crate root
  • Improved compile time error messages for #[derive(AsChangeset)]
  • Allow to use generic types in infix_operator!()
