🎯 Functional Correctness | 🟡 Minor | ⚡ Quick winKeep the Fournos name separate from the agent session ID.
test_phase.pystores a generated/configured UUID, and the changed call passes that value asrun_uuid.run_regression_checkthen uses the same value for the SlackJobfield, so the notification normally shows the UUID instead ofFJOB_NAME.Do not replace it directly with
FJOB_NAME, because the agent usesrun_uuidto build its session identifier. Add a separate notification identifier.Suggested fix

The regression check was gated behind caliper.postprocess.csv_dashboard.enabled, so runs without S3 dashboard sync never produced a regression notification. Caliper generates the dashboard CSV regardless of the sync setting, and run_regression_check downloads the consolidated CSV from S3 itself — only the upload of this run's CSV needs the csv_dashboard gate. Rebased on main: the original fix (passing ci_job.fjob_name as run_uuid) was superseded by openshift-psap#312, which populates run_uuid from tests.rhaiis.run_uuid with a FJOB_NAME fallback. Co-Authored-By: Claude Code <noreply@anthropic.com>
…agent session run_uuid serves two roles: the agent session/report identifier (needs to be unique per run) and the Slack Job field (most useful as the FournosJob name). Split them — run_regression_check now takes notification_job_id, used for the notification's job_id with a run_uuid fallback, and the benchmark call site passes FJOB_NAME separately while keeping run_uuid a per-run uuid. Co-Authored-By: Claude Code <noreply@anthropic.com>
Per review discussion: the FournosJob name is unique per submission, so it should be the sole identifier — openshift-psap#312's uuid-first ordering showed an opaque run_uuid in the Slack Job field instead. Reverts the notification_job_id split from the previous commit; same-second name collisions are accepted as out of scope. Co-Authored-By: Claude Code <noreply@anthropic.com>
run_standalone_analysis returned early when rhaiis.agent_analysis.enabled was false, skipping the version comparison entirely — even though the comparison itself doesn't need the AI agent. The agent report stays optional via its own check inside run_regression_check. Co-Authored-By: Claude Code <noreply@anthropic.com>

Codex: |
Regression notifications previously sent only when regressions or improvements were found; skipped comparisons (no baseline, no common profiles, no data in the consolidated CSV) and no-change results were silent. Surface both cases in Slack with the same header (versions, model, job) plus the skip reason, so a run with compare_version set always reports what was compared and why nothing was. Co-Authored-By: Claude Code <noreply@anthropic.com>
The benchmark path was fixed to pass ci_job.fjob_name as run_uuid, but the two run_standalone_analysis call sites still passed the generated uuid4, so standalone comparisons showed an opaque UUID in the Slack Job field. Align both standalone call sites with the benchmark path. Co-Authored-By: Claude Code <noreply@anthropic.com>
…celerator run_standalone_analysis derived the accelerator from the CSV taxonomy (H200, MI355X) for row filtering and passed the same value to the notification, so standalone messages showed "Accelerator: H200" while benchmark-path messages show "nvidia". Keep the CSV value for filtering and the skip reason, label notifications with rhaiis.accelerator like the rest of the forge Slack messages. Co-Authored-By: Claude Code <noreply@anthropic.com>
…endor accelerator" This reverts commit 4e28426.
The benchmark path passed the vendor key (nvidia) as the notification accelerator, which is ambiguous across nvidia hardware (H200 vs B200) and inconsistent with the standalone path and the consolidated CSV taxonomy. Pass the GPU type (H200, MI355X, B200) like the standalone path derives from the hardware config, so both paths label the same hardware the comparison actually matched on. Co-Authored-By: Claude Code <noreply@anthropic.com>
A comparison whose only common concurrency is 1 (excluded by compare_runs) produced status=completed with total_comparisons=0, which the notification rendered as "No performance changes detected" even though nothing was compared. Mark empty result sets as skipped with an explicit reason at the source, guard the notification branch on total_comparisons, and apply ruff format to the files flagged by the lint job. Problem
Four issues in the regression-comparison paths:
caliper.postprocess.csv_dashboard.enabled— runs with S3 dashboard sync disabled never produced a notificationrun_benchmark: false) was gated behindrhaiis.agent_analysis.enabled— a plain version comparison was skipped entirely unless the AI agent was enabledcompare_versionset only notified when regressions or improvements were found — skipped comparisons (no baseline data, no common ISL/OSL profiles, no rows for the current version) and "no changes detected" outcomes were completely silentUse case: testing optimized configs
The consolidated dashboard CSV records
model, version, TP, accelerator— but not the engine args / config a run used. So when tuning a config, you want to:csv_dashboard.enabled=falsecompare_versionWithout the decoupling, pushing the tuned run would pollute the consolidated CSV with rows indistinguishable from default-config rows; not pushing meant no verdict at all.
Changes
Job identifier (
test_phase.py): pass the Fournos job name (ci_job.fjob_name) asrun_uuidat all call sites — the benchmark path and bothrun_standalone_analysissites — so the SlackJob:field and agent session key use the job name. The name is unique per submission; same-second collisions accepted as out of scope. Supersedes [rhaiis] Configure agent analysis endpoint and model #312's uuid-first ordering.Benchmark path decoupling (
test_phase.py): always locate the postprocessed dashboard CSV and runrun_regression_check; gate only the S3 upload behindcsv_dashboard.enabled. The comparison identity (version + model + accelerator + TP) is unrelated to the dashboard sync.Standalone path decoupling (
analysis.py): remove theagent_analysis.enabledgate fromrun_standalone_analysis. The AI-agent report stays optional insiderun_regression_check; the comparison itself no longer requires it.Comparison-outcome notifications (
regression.py):send_regression_notificationhandles every outcome instead of returning silently:run_regression_checknow always notifies (the agent-report lookup stays gated on actual regressions); the standalone no-data case reports too.Accelerator label (
test_phase.py): notifications show the GPU type (H200,MI355X,B200) on both paths — not the vendor key, which is ambiguous across nvidia hardware (H200 vs B200) — matching the consolidated CSV taxonomy and the dashboard URL filter.CI validation (hera, H200/TP=1, fast2 vs fast1)
csv_dashboard: falseJob:= fjob name,Accelerator:H200csv_dashboard: falserun_benchmark: falserun_benchmark: falseThe no-changes branch is covered by unit tests (it can't be forced deterministically in CI). Comparison numbers in the standalone run matched a pre-run simulation against the consolidated CSV exactly.
Follow-up (out of scope)
Migrating the regression notification to the forge-native pattern —
ci.add_notification_file()+ rendering in the RHAIIS Slack provider — would post the comparison outcome into the PR's ForgeBot thread (today it lands as a separate top-level message) and remove the identifier-passing debate entirely. Also: align_build_dashboard_urlwith #337's taxonomy-aware links, and surfacecompare_versionin the Pipeline Succeeded notification.🤖 Generated with Claude Code
