Summary

  • Derive a THT/SMD "Montage" extra field for Eagle/Fusion boards from the footprint's <pad>/<smd> elements.
  • The vendor MOUNT attribute is only present on some library parts (e.g. Würth), so the BOM could not distinguish THT from SMD for all components.
  • Usable via --extra-fields "Montage".

Test plan

  • Generated the BOM for Leiterplatte_Trainer.brd with --extra-fields "Montage,PART-NUMBER" without errors.
  • Check the Montage column values in the browser.

Summary by Sourcery

Add reliable mounting-type classification for Fusion/Eagle BOM components based on their footprint elements.

New Features:

  • Add a configurable “Montage” extra field for Fusion/Eagle boards to classify components as THT, SMD, mixed, or mechanical.

Bug Fixes:

  • Improve component mounting-type identification when vendor-specific MOUNT attributes are unavailable.

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • New Features
    • Component details now indicate whether a package is through-hole, surface-mount, a mix of both, or mechanical based on its pads.

…t pads

Eagle/Fusion parts only carry a MOUNT attribute when the library vendor
sets it. Derive THT/SMD from the package's <pad>/<smd> elements instead,
so it can be shown/grouped via --extra-fields "Montage".

The BOM looks up extra fields by their lowercased name when case
normalization is enabled, so store the derived value under that key.

Not a fan of hardcoding an extra field that will be present on every board. Is it hard to do this on eagle/fusion side via some script and create this field when necessary?
