Update the pinned pnpm package manager from 12.9.1 to 12.14.0 and regenerate its lockfile entries. This is a minor tooling update; Commander remains on its latest release, and there are no npm runtime dependencies or open security alerts.

Validation: lockfile regeneration with pnpm 12.14.0, docs build, credential-free release harness, and all four release-caller tests passed. Independent Codex review found no actionable P0–P2 findings. Full macOS validation runs in CI.

Codex review: needs maintainer review before merge.

What this changes

This PR updates the pinned pnpm version from 12.9.1 to 12.14.0 and refreshes its lockfile entries.

Example: A developer uses the repository’s pinned package manager.

  • Before: The project selects pnpm 12.9.1.
  • After: The project selects pnpm 12.14.0.

Review scores

Measure Result What it means
Overall readiness 🦐 gold shrimp (3/6) The minimal patch is internally consistent and matches published packages, but available CI does not exercise the changed package manager.
Proof confidence 🌊 off-meta tidepool Not applicable: This collaborator-authored tooling update is outside the ordinary proof gate; reported local validation is not independently observable runtime proof.
Patch quality 🐚 platinum hermit (4/6) No actionable review findings were identified.

Product

Kind: Maintenance · Worth it: Yes · Fix scope: Complete
User problem: Developers remain on an older pinned package-manager release.
Reason: The collaborator-authored update follows established dependency maintenance and preserves the application’s runtime contract.

Merge readiness

✅ Ready for maintainer review

Keep this maintainer-authored PR open: main still pins pnpm 12.9.1, and the focused update has no actionable correctness or security findings.

Tests

  • Missing end-to-end proof: Supplied CI does not exercise pnpm itself, and the reported local regeneration and docs build have no attached terminal output.

How this fits together

The package manifest and lockfile select developer tooling that dispatches documentation and Swift build commands; the distributed remindctl CLI has no npm runtime dependencies.

Technical review

Best possible solution:

Retain the existing package-manager ownership and lockfile structure while advancing the pin to pnpm 12.14.0.

Do we have a high-confidence way to reproduce the issue?

No product bug is alleged; source inspection directly confirms the package-manager version change.

Is this the best way to solve the issue?

Updating the existing pin and corresponding resolutions is the smallest complete implementation, with no parallel tooling path or unrelated edits.

AGENTS.md: not found in the target repository.

Codex review notes: model internal, reasoning medium; reviewed against 98bba46c88c3.

Provenance checked

  • Package-manager pin and generated resolutions keeps the original intent (d272180: Pin developer tooling and use supported pnpm script dispatch; later updates retained this structure. Historical follow tracing reaches an unavailable creation-boundary object, but the relevant pin introduction and subsequent updates are readable.)

Proof path: none.

Evidence

What I checked:

  • Pinned diff and current main: The complete introduced diff changes only the package-manager version and matching pnpm lockfile resolutions; the main manifest still selects 12.9.1. (package.json:20, 6a6b22d5383f)
  • Owner direction and discussion: The author is a collaborator, establishing owner direction and a keep-open guard; the full body and comments contain reported validation but no terminal artifacts. (6a6b22d5383f)
  • Established tooling contract: ci: pin tooling and streamline verified builds #86 introduced the package-manager pin and supported script dispatch; build(deps): update pnpm and CodeQL action #99 subsequently refreshed the same lockfile structure. (package.json:20, 98bba46c88c3)
  • Validation scope: Exact-head build and docs checks passed, while Swift analysis remained in progress; CI invokes Make, Node, and Swift directly rather than exercising the changed pnpm selection. (.github/workflows/ci.yml:25, 6a6b22d5383f)
  • Published dependency verification: Read-only npm registry inspection matched all 15 changed integrity values to published 12.14.0 metadata; Node requirements, lifecycle script declarations, and optional package names match 12.9.1. The dependency is directly selected by the target manifest. Release context: https://github.com/pnpm/pnpm/releases/tag/v12.14.0.

Rank-up moves

Optional improvements that raise the rating; they are not merge blockers.

  • Attach terminal output showing pnpm 12.14.0 completing a frozen-lockfile installation and a repository script.
