alexpriest wants to merge 1 commit into
Conversation
Text output listed only To, so cc'd recipients were invisible and a reader could conclude people had been dropped from a thread.

Codex review: needs real behavior proof before merge. What this changesThis PR prints nonempty Cc and Bcc headers after To in Gmail thread text output. Example: Thread t1 contains a message addressed to b@example.com with Cc c@example.com and no Bcc header.

Technical reviewBest possible solution: Retain the small addition to the existing thread renderer and record the user-visible fix in Unreleased when landing. Do we have a high-confidence way to reproduce the issue? The current-main renderer deterministically omits Cc and Bcc even when Gmail returns them; this was verified in source without executing target code. Is this the best way to solve the issue? The patch is the smallest complete repair: it reuses case-insensitive header lookup and optional sanitization, skips empty values, and leaves the JSON branch untouched. Preserve Gmail search results and reduce retry work: back off on recognized 403 rate limits, retain response bodies and read errors, cancel remaining detail fetches after a failure, and keep quoted operators out of label filters. Include nonempty Cc/Bcc in thread text and isolate reply/forward header direction without altering plain text or quoted HTML. Preserve requested false booleans in Drive and Sites list JSON for grouped fields, slash paths, and wildcards while leaving conditional fields omitted. Reproduces and incorporates #1242, #1246, #1247, #1248, and #1250; addresses #1241. Focused regression tests and independent Codex review pass. Thanks for this fix. Incorporated into #1253 with contributor credit and a changelog acknowledgment: including nonempty Cc and Bcc headers in thread text. The regression was reproduced before the change. Focused regression tests, the full remote |
gog gmail thread gettext output prints From, To, Subject and Date for each message, but never Cc or Bcc. On a thread where people are cc'd, they're invisible, so it looks as if they were dropped from the conversation. This is the same gap #332 fixed for
gmail get(in #343).thread getwas missed.Change: print
Cc:andBcc:afterTo:when the header is present. Empty headers are skipped, so threads without them look the same as before. JSON output is unchanged.Test: the
thread getplain-output test fixture now has a Cc header, and asserts theCc:line appears and no emptyBcc:line is printed.go test ./internal/cmdpasses.
