[macOS] Scheduled view partially loads tasks, then shows “Scheduled tasks could not be loaded” #55403
What version of the Codex App are you using (From “About Codex” dialog)?
ChatGPT desktop app, Powered by Codex & OWL, version 26.1013.40934 (released October 16, 2026).
What subscription do you have?
ChatGPT Pro.
What platform is your computer?
macOS desktop app. The exact macOS version/build was not collected for this report.
What issue are you seeing?
The Scheduled view enters an inconsistent partial-load state:
Several scheduled tasks are visible in the left sidebar.
At the bottom of the same list, the app simultaneously shows:
Scheduled tasks could not be loaded
Try again
Because some entries are already displayed while the view reports that scheduled tasks could not be loaded, it is unclear whether the task inventory and statuses are complete, current, or stale. This makes the Scheduled page unreliable for reviewing and managing automations.
No task names, prompts, conversation contents, task IDs, or account details are included in this public report.
What steps can reproduce the bug?
Observed sequence on October 19, 2026:
Open the ChatGPT macOS desktop app.
Select Scheduled from the left navigation.
Wait for the scheduled-task list to load.
Some task entries appear.
The bottom of the list displays Scheduled tasks could not be loaded together with a Try again control.
This report documents the observed state. Deterministic repeatability, the exact failing request, and the effect of restarting the app have not been independently established.
Session ID, token usage, and context-window usage are not applicable to this UI-loading failure.
What is the expected behavior?
The Scheduled view should load the complete, current task inventory and statuses without also presenting a load failure.
If a request fails, the app should clearly distinguish already verified data from unavailable data, preserve the user's tasks, and provide a reliable refresh/retry path rather than leaving the page in an ambiguous partial state.
Additional information
The error is visible in the current desktop build 26.1013.40934.
The UI shows both task entries and the load error at the same time.
Screenshots were captured, but the unredacted images contain private task titles and are not attached publicly. Redacted evidence can be provided if maintainers request it.
I searched open and closed issues for the exact error text and related Scheduled-page loading terms and did not find an exact duplicate.
