Ontolith is an open-source Python library (Apache-2.0) for shared, governed knowledge bases. Every fact records its author, source, confidence, and the model that produced it. Agents propose changes instead of writing them. When sources disagree about a fact that shouldn't change, the disagreement goes to a human reviewer instead of being overwritten.

Governed by default AI principals must name an accountable owner. They propose, a pure policy decides, and humans review. |
Disagreement is data A static fact that gets a second value opens a contradiction. A time-varying one is superseded. Neither is silently overwritten. |
Nothing is thrown away Assertions are append-only and bitemporal, so as_of(t) shows what was known at any past moment.
