What does this Pull Request accomplish?

  • Migrated pyproject.toml to Poetry 2.x format.
    • used ⁠poetry-plugin-migrate 0.1.1.
    • referred to the instructions from How-to Migrate from Poetry 1.x to Poetry 2.x - Overview.
    • The following manual adjustments were made after migration:
      • Moved classifiers from [tool.poetry] to [project].
      • Added the Read the Docs URL to project.urls.documentation.
      • Changed requires-poetry in [tool.poetry] from >=2.0 to >=2.1.
      • Changed the poetry-core requirement in [build-system] to >=2.1,<3.0.
  • Regenerated poetry.lock using Poetry 2.1.4 Poetry 2.4.1.
  • Updated CHANGELOG.md.
  • Updated docs/conf.py to use the new pyproject.toml format.

Why should this Pull Request be merged?

  • Resolve warnings about deprecated syntax.

What testing has been done?

  • Ran poetry run ni-python-styleguide -v lint, poetry run mypy, poetry check, poetry lock && poetry install and poetry update.
  • PR build.

Migrated pyproject.toml to the Poetry 2.x format using
poetry-plugin-migrate 0.1.1 and Poetry 2.1.4.
 
The following manual adjustments were made after migration:
- Moved classifiers from [tool.poetry] to [project].
- Added the Read the Docs URL to project.urls.documentation.
