What

Templates could not send mail: every message bounced with postfix/error ... relay=none ... status=bounced ([smtp.gmail.com]:587).

Cause

The builder preseeds Postfix as "Local only". Debian's postinst then sets default_transport = error and relay_transport = error, and nothing removed them, so Postfix never contacted the relay.

Change

  • build-templates.sh: postconf -X default_transport relay_transport after the main settings.
  • verify-template.sh: new check that both are unset (FAIL shows their values).

Found by running verify-clone.sh (#50) on a clone of template 9003; postconf -n there showed both set to error.

Existing templates need a rebuild (or postconf -X default_transport relay_transport && systemctl reload postfix on a clone to confirm).

Testing

bash -n and shellcheck clean. Not rebuilt or run on a real Proxmox host.
