I'm Marcel Huber, an AI Engineer and M.Sc. Artificial Intelligence student at Johannes Kepler University in Linz, Austria.
My main interests are Generative AI, Computer Vision, local AI systems and self-hosted infrastructure. I enjoy experimenting with new technologies and turning research ideas into practical projects.
- Generative AI, diffusion models and image synthesis
- Computer Vision and medical image analysis
- Local LLMs, RAG pipelines and AI agents
- Self-hosted AI workflows with tools such as ComfyUI
- Building and maintaining my own homelab
- 3D modeling and 3D printing
I run a two-server homelab where I experiment with Linux, Docker, networking, automation and local AI.
Some of the services I self-host include:
- Jellyfin for media
- Immich for photo management
- Paperless-ngx for documents
- Home Assistant for automation
- Local LLMs and RAG experiments
- ComfyUI and other generative AI tools
- Various personal applications and development services
I especially enjoy exploring how AI can be integrated into self-hosted systems while keeping applications local and under my own control.
Outside of software, I'm heavily interested in 3D printing and digital design.
I design functional and decorative models, experiment with generative design workflows and primarily use Bambu Lab printers.
- Diffusion Models
- Local LLM inference
- Retrieval-Augmented Generation
- Computer Vision
- Generative AI
- AI-powered automation
- Self-hosting & homelabs
- 3D printing
Open-source AI projects, Generative AI, Computer Vision, local-first applications and interesting software projects with real-world impact.
AI, self-hosting, homelabs, 3D printing, Pokémon or whatever I'm currently experimenting with.
