New functional requirement: Block selection
Generally, when we drag and drop with the mouse, the selection includes multiple lines from beginning to end. In some cases, rectangular selection is required: only the rectangular area from the top left corner to the bottom right corner of the drag area is selected. This feature is highly needed. Suggest joining. This function can be triggered by dragging the mouse while pressing the ALT key
There is a software called Keil that can implement this function. I have uploaded a screenshot for your reference.

TBH I doubt Mint would accept it even if you submitted a pull request as it looks like a lame feature.
