'Check your Internet connection' seems generated by an invalid signature, when changing mirror #689
View -> Software Sources -> genreated the message, 'Check your Internet connection', whereas apt get update suggests that the problem is in fact:
W: An error occurred during the signature verification. The repository is not updated and the previous index files will be used. GPG error: https://repo.skype.com/deb stable InRelease: The following signatures were invalid: EXPKEYSIG 1F3045A5DF7587C3 Skype Linux Client Repository <se-um@microsoft.com>
To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:
Have invalid apt signature.
Try to change mirror.
See misleading error message.
That said: the log that I paste below suggests that the problem might lie elsewhere. Yet, I am pretty sure that I did have a functioning Internet connection at the time. So seemingly the error message was inaccurate even if the problem is not to do with an invalid signature,
Expected behavior
Either an accurate error message or no error message at all.

Also: seemingly the upgrade from Mint 20.1 to 20.2 switches away from any local mirror and then fails to switch back after the upgrade.
This seem still relevant.
One variant of this happens to me every day.
The error message really should be made a lot clearer, perhaps even with a hint of how to solve it.

This problem persists: mintupdate tells the user to check Internet connection, when what apt is suggesting is that a mirror sync is in progress.
