Ship Experiment

Turn weird internet ideas into live internet experiments.

Ship Experiment is an open-source skill for Codex, Claude Code, Cursor, and other coding agents. It helps an agent move from:

idea → mechanic → product spec → build → payments → analytics → deploy → launch

This is not an AI website builder or a SaaS starter kit. It teaches agents how mechanic-led internet products work: auctions, leaderboards, growing artifacts, scarcity, king-of-the-hill games, referral competitions, and permanent internet nonsense.

Use it

Install or copy this folder into your agent's skills directory, then invoke:

/ship-experiment

Or ask naturally:

Use Ship Experiment. People pay $1 to make a receipt one inch longer.

Brainstorm mode:

/ship-experiment brainstorm

See Installation for agent-specific setup.

What it does

  • Distills a five-second premise and core loop
  • Scores the idea without pretending every concept is good
  • Identifies product, monetization, and growth primitives
  • Removes generic SaaS features from the MVP
  • Produces a production-minded product spec and build plan
  • Guides payments, analytics, social metadata, QA, deployment, and launch

Example

People compete to stay on a webpage longer than everyone else.

Premise: Stay longer than everyone else.
Core: ENDURANCE + KING OF THE HILL + LEADERBOARD
MVP: one public session, active-time validation, live ranking, shareable record
Monetization: none for V1
Primary risk: background-tab and automation abuse

Built with Ship Experiment

  • 🧾 Internet Receipt — $1 makes the receipt one inch longer.
  • 🗺 On The Map — The more you bid, the harder you are to miss.
  • ⏱ Outwait — Stay longer than everyone else.

Want yours here? Open a PR adding it to examples/community.json.

Contributing

New primitives, recipes, examples, and integration guidance are welcome. The test is simple: does it help an agent ship a better internet experiment faster? See CONTRIBUTING.md.
