What was wrong

Readers did not have a guide explaining how archiving threads frees workspace storage while keeping conversations, or how to configure automatic retention.

What changed

Added /guides/archive-threads with archiving and recovery steps, the experimental Storage & retention controls, deletion warnings, and an optional prompt for keeping compressed conversation copies.

The archiving prompt asks how many inactive days to use, defaults to 30, checks the complete affected thread set, and requires confirmation before archiving. It excludes personal workspaces by default and skips any parent whose affected threads fail the safety checks.

The hero screenshot is centered independently of the entrance animation, including when it is wider than the text column.
