  • src/component/lib.ts: internal mutation _deleteChunksPage now uses built-in ctx.db.query("chunks").withIndex("byStream", ...).paginate(...) instead of paginator from convex-helpers/server/pagination. Removed the now-unused paginator and schema imports.
  • Cursor format: the cursor is persisted in the scheduled function's args between batches. Paginator cursors were JSON arrays; built-in cursors are opaque strings. A cursor starting with [ (from a deletion scheduled before this deploy) is treated as null. This is safe because chunks are deleted as the job goes, so restarting from the beginning only revisits chunks that still exist.
  • Removed convex-helpers from package.json (no longer imported).
  • convex-test devDependency is 0.0.64, which enforces the same rule.

Depends on the upcoming Convex release that lets components call .paginate(). A query may paginate once, counting nested component calls; mutations may paginate multiple times. _deleteChunksPage is an internal mutation that runs as its own scheduled transaction.

Switch _deleteChunksPage to ctx.db.query(...).paginate(), restarting
from the beginning when given an old paginator-format cursor. Drop the
convex-helpers dependency and temporarily install convex-test from
pkg.pr.new (convex-test#163).

📝 Walkthrough

The package configuration removes convex-helpers and upgrades convex-test from 0.0.62 to 0.0.64. _deleteChunksPage now uses database-native pagination. When a cursor begins with [, the function resets it to null. Chunk deletion and rescheduling remain unchanged.

Scheduled deletion may leave chunks behind after a stream is removed. Confirm backend support for component pagination, or retain the previous paginator, before merging.

site:docs.convex.dev/components/authoring Convex built-in paginate components

💡 Result:

Convex’s built-in `.paginate()` **does not work inside components** because of how Convex tracks reactive pagination. The authoring guide recommends using `paginator` from `convex-helpers` instead. If exposing pagination for React, it also recommends `usePaginatedQuery` from `convex-helpers` rather than `convex/react`. Do not use built-in .paginate() until component support is available.

_deleteChunksPage is an internal mutation in the component. The Convex component guide states that built-in .paginate() does not work inside components. deleteStream deletes the stream before scheduling _deleteChunksPage, so a rejected pagination call leaves its chunk rows behind. Keep the convex-helpers paginator until the required backend release is deployed, or gate this change on that support.
