• Opening a search database that doesn't exist now raises FileNotFoundError instead of creating one.
• Database connections are closed on errors too, through the new open_database() / read_database_settings().
• Embeddings tab: embeddings() runs once, errors are no longer swallowed, and new databases get the tab's producer/worker counts.
• Multi-segment queries are ranked by the true mean score over all segments.
• API: euclidean_scoring_inverse is removed, and create_csv_output() raises for a missing database.
