StraboSpot (strabospot.org) is a geologic data system that allows researchers to digitally collect, store, and share both field and laboratory data. It is built around the concept of a spot: any observation that characterizes a specific area, at any spatial scale, from regional maps to microscopic images.
The StraboSpot ecosystem includes:
- StraboField: iOS/Android and web application for collecting geologic field data (repo)
- StraboMicro: application for managing microstructural and microscopy data (repo)
- StraboExperimental: web application for experimental rock deformation data (repo)
| Repository | Description |
|---|---|
| StraboBackend | Server-side code: the strabospot.org website, database APIs, and data processing. |
| StraboField | Field data collection app (native + web). Issues and discussions for the app live here. |
| StraboMicro | Desktop application for managing microstructural and microscopy data |
| StraboExperimental | Web application for experimental deformation geoscientists. |
Development and operation of StraboSpot is supported by the U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF). We gratefully acknowledge the following NSF awards, as well as all prior NSF support of the StraboSpot project. See also the NSF Funding page at strabospot.org.
