Enterprises using OIDC currently miss provider and external identity data because collection and conversion assume SAML. This change collects enterprise OIDC provider metadata and paginated external identities using the supplemental PAT, and maps them to GitHub users through the existing non-traversable relationships.

  • Add GH_OidcIdentityProvider and GH_HasOidcIdentityProvider, with GH_IdentityProvider as a shared secondary kind on SAML and OIDC providers.
  • Share enterprise external identity query and pagination code while preserving the existing SAML resource and external_identities output table.
  • Resolve provider associations from SAML and OIDC lookup data without adding provider properties to external identity nodes. Missing or ambiguous providers omit the provider edge while retaining the identity and linked-user mapping; ambiguity is logged.
  • Update the enterprise Identity Provider Explore link to include both SAML and OIDC providers through the shared GH_IdentityProvider kind.
  • Keep SAML_HasAccount relationships restricted to SAML providers. Update extension schema to v1.4.2 and document the new kinds and collection behavior.

Validation: 485 tests passed; lint checks on changed implementation and new tests passed; git diff --check passed. Latest navigation update: 20 focused OIDC, federation, and description tests passed; schema JSON validation and git diff --check passed. Live OIDC collection remains pending customer validation.

Ticket: BED-10447

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • New Features
    • Added support for collecting enterprise OIDC providers and their external identities alongside SAML data. OIDC provider details and identity relationships are available in the graph.
    • External identities can be linked to a provider and, when applicable, a GitHub user. Identities remain available when those links are missing or provider matches are ambiguous.
    • Added schema navigation for OIDC providers and their enterprise, identity, and user relationships.
  • Documentation
    • Expanded guidance on OIDC collection requirements, including the supplemental classic PAT permission, provider associations, and differences between SAML and OIDC relationships.

Buffer external identities until pagination succeeds.

iter_enterprise_external_identities yields identities before pagination completes. If the first page succeeds and a later page fails, the external_identities resource receives and persists an incomplete first-page collection instead of producing no rows for the failed collection. Buffer the identities and yield them only after the paginator completes successfully.
