Summary

  • Sync embedded pgxntool from 2.3.0 to 2.4.0 (release tag) via make pgxntool-sync. The resulting pgxntool/ tree is identical to the 2.4.0 tag.
  • Reconcile setup files: prune pgxntool's dev-only .claude/ and .github/, and take 2.4.0's new .gitignore entries. Its sql/*--stable.sql + !sql/*--*--stable.sql pair covers our explicitly-named stable entries, so those are dropped.

Subtree conflicts

git subtree pull conflicted in 8 files even though our copy had no local patches against 2.3.0. The cause: the 2.1.0–2.3.0 sync PRs were squash-merged, which discarded the subtree's git-subtree-split: bookkeeping commit, so subtree merged 2.4.0 against the pre-2.1.0 bed3604 base. Resolved by taking upstream for everything under pgxntool/. Postgres-Extensions/pgxntool#138 tracks making the sync independent of that history.

Squash-merging this PR will cause the same conflicts on the next sync. A merge commit would preserve the bookkeeping, but this repo currently only allows squash merges.

Testing

make test passes on PG17 (test-build syntax, test/install/load, base, pgtap).
