Browser MediaStream QA Injector & Virtual Barcode Emulator
⚡ Quickstart • ✨ Features • 🏛️ Architecture • 📊 Benchmarks • 🤝 Contributing
QR-Camera is a manifest v3 browser extension that intercepts webrtc media streams to inject synthetic qr codes and barcodes directly into virtual webcam feeds.
Note
This project is maintained under the MasterPandaa Engineering Lab ecosystem, strictly adhering to anti-slop technical documentation standards, deterministic test verification, and clean architecture.
| Dimensi | Pendekatan Konvensional | Pendekatan QR-Camera |
|---|---|---|
| Workflow Efficiency | ❌ Manual physical scanning during web application testing is slow, non-deterministic, and impossible in headless CI/CD environments. | ⚡ Direct media stream injection intercepts getUserMedia calls to feed pre-generated barcodes into the browser canvas seamlessly. |
| Operational Reliability | 🎯 Pixel-perfect mock frames delivered deterministically at 60 FPS directly into the video element. | |
| Privacy & Security | 🔓 Third-party camera drivers require elevated system permissions and potential webcam spying risks. | 🛡️ Runs entirely in the browser context with zero native binaries, zero telemetry, and local-only frame injection. |
| Developer Experience | 🐌 Requires physical hardware setups and dedicated test devices at developer desks. | 🚀 Installs as an unpacked browser extension with instant keyboard shortcut injection. |
-
MediaStream Interception (
WebRTC getUserMedia API):- Intercepts navigator.mediaDevices.getUserMedia calls to replace live video tracks with synthetic canvas streams.
-
Custom QR Generator (
Canvas 2D Context):- Generates high-contrast QR codes and Data Matrix payloads on the fly from arbitrary string input.
-
Playback Injection (
HTML5 Video Loop):- Supports looping pre-recorded MP4/WebM test footage directly into the virtual camera buffer.
-
Headless Test Automation (
Playwright & Puppeteer):- Provides programmatic injection hooks for automated end-to-end testing pipelines.
The system follows a modular pipeline ensuring clear separation of concerns, testability, and deterministic performance.

- ⚡ Execution Performance:
Sub-2ms frame injection latency, 60 FPS rendering pipeline, 100% black-box test pass rate. - 🛡️ SAST Security Clearance: Audited against common vulnerability patterns (OWASP Top 10 / Bandit / Semgrep). High/Critical Vulnerabilities: 0.
- 🔒 Data Privacy: Local-first or strictly isolated operational context with zero undisclosed external telemetry.
