Both have left their regular support. Debian 11 no longer even builds: deb.debian.org/debian-security answers 404 for its packages (seen 2026-10-25). Ubuntu 20.04 only gets security updates through paid ESM. No package targets either of them.
Document the supported targets and the rule for dropping them, the EPEL/CRB assumption on EL, src/ for packages without an upstream, the automatic smoke test, end-to-end tests on fresh VMs for changes that affect how hosts reach the repository, what the repository server needs for publish.sh, how linuxfabrik-release is built and what a change to it or to the signing key means, and what happens to a rejected prerelease. Also fix two paragraphs with broken line wraps.

The Rocky mirrorlist hands out single mirrors, and on GitHub's runners several of them were slow or stalled: BaseOS came in at 101 kB/s in the rocky-v10 build of PR #37, and dnf hung in the rocky-v8 smoke test of release run 40189467280. dl.rockylinux.org sits behind the Fastly CDN, so a runner in the US is served from a nearby edge without pinning one mirror. The build containers and the smoke test switch the commented baseurl lines of the Rocky repo files on; EPEL keeps its metalink, since both stalls happened on Rocky repositories. Verified on Rocky 8, 9 and 10.
