Electronic Engineering Student | Artificial Intelligence | Computer Vision | Backend Development | Data Analysis
I am a final-semester Electronic Engineering student at Universidad de Sucre, Colombia, and a member of the GEMMA research group. My work connects machine learning experiments with software development: preparing data, training and evaluating models, integrating AI into applications, and building the systems that store and present their results.
My projects span conversational AI, computer vision, institutional software, and the analysis of social and territorial data.
| Project | Focus | Explore |
|---|---|---|
| Emoti-Bot: Conversational AI for Emotional Support | Research prototype combining a local language model, speech interaction, PostgreSQL persistence, and traceable rules and indicators for professional review. | Documentation |
| Facial Emotion Recognition | Research on facial expression classification using residual neural networks and ArcFace-based discriminative learning in PyTorch. | Repository |
| Smart Store Vision System | Integration of product detection, firearm detection, facial expression classification, and RFID identification in a simulated retail environment. | Repository |
| Mental Health Disparities in Bogotá | Data cleaning and integration, geographic indicators, statistical analysis, and an interactive Streamlit dashboard exploring mental health and structural urban factors. | Repository |
| Potato Leaf Disease Classification | Transfer learning with EfficientNet-B0, image preprocessing, class balancing, and comparative evaluation for potato leaf condition classification. | Repository |
These projects include collaborative research. Individual repositories document their authors, methods, results, and available materials.
I am also developing an institutional room booking system with FastAPI and PostgreSQL. It includes role-based access, approval workflows, scheduling conflict management, institutional overrides, email notifications, and audit history. Current work includes Docker-based deployment for a university pilot.
This project's source code is maintained in a private repository.
| Area | Tools and experience |
|---|---|
| Programming | Python, C/C++ |
| AI and computer vision | PyTorch, TensorFlow, OpenCV, YOLO, transfer learning |
| Conversational AI | Local language model integration, speech-to-text, text-to-speech, rule-based analysis |

My academic work includes research presentations at RedCOLSI events, the International Symposium on Statistics, and the STEM Miami 2025 seminar at Broward International University.
I also create short educational programming videos through Fix That Code, explaining Python behavior and algorithmic improvements through step-by-step animations.
