Support native JSON datatype for columns as MySQL / PostgreeSql [CORE5148] #5431
This takes forever it is the only reason we consider to move to postgresql after 26 years using firebird. Can't you use ai to speed this up ? So that at least there comes a version that supports json and jsonb
No tokens are required. This code has already been developed as part of the Red Database fork and will be ported to Firebird 6.0 a little later. For now, there are other tasks, such as stabilization after merging with the shared metadata cache branch.

Given that JSON support is now a part of SQL standard (SQL:2016), the ticket looks absolutely on-topic to me.

Such changes are not included into minor releases. If you can't wait for v6, I'm afraid you're out of luck.

what's the status can wait for 6 but if i watch the roadmap it will not be there this year still on pending pr

happy to pay for the tokens if that helps to test or generate the code. Or make another paid contribution to get this high on the list

Full JSON support introduces a large number of changes, so it was decided to split the work into several smaller PRs to simplify the review process.
The current plan is as follows:
JSON
├─ JSON Path
├─ ├─ JSON Path Parser (#9062)
├─ ├─ JSON Path Runtime execution
├─ JSON Content
│ ├─ Text Parser
│ ├─ JSON Binary Storage
│ │ ├─ BLOB data modification (#9066)
│ ├─ JSON Text Storage
│ ├─ JSON Query Actions (backend for JSON Functions)
├─ Engine Side
│ ├─ JSON Type
│ │ ├─ Logical
│ │ ├─ Physical
│ ├─ JSON_TABLE
│ ├─ JSON ExprNodes
│ ├─ JSON AggNodes
├─ Regression Fixes After Review Feedback
