Node 20 reached end of life in April 2026 and gets no fix for the October 21 security release, which patches a TLS hostname validation bypass (CVE-2026-106069), a Brotli decoder out-of-bounds write (CVE-2026-111497), and removes trust in the compromised eMudhra intermediate CAs from Node's bundled CA store. LGTM. All CI jobs read .nvmrc, engines is >=18, and CI passes on 22.

Moves CI off Node 20, which reached end of life in April 2026 and gets no fix for Node's October 21 security release: a TLS hostname-validation bypass, a Brotli decoder out-of-bounds write, and removal of the compromised eMudhra intermediates from Node's bundled CA store. Node only runs at build time and in CI here, where it's the TLS client pnpm fetches packages with.
This is a major-version jump (20 → 22); CI is the check that the docs still build.
