Summary

  • Align POSIX file modes when saving existing files and creating marker files.
  • Preserve existing content and close file descriptors when mode updates fail.
  • Add regression coverage for marker reuse, overwrite behavior, and error handling.

Validation

  • Linux persistence checks: 8 passed, 4 skipped.
  • Windows persistence checks: 5 passed, 9 skipped.
  • Package lint passed.

Apply owner read/write mode to existing POSIX cache files before truncation, set the creation mode for marker files, and cover permission error handling and marker reuse.
