show described create's defaults, and every command said "trace container settings". Each command now says what it does, and only create and update describe how omitted settings are handled. Summary
Add the
2026-09-03-previewatomic command models used by the distributed trace commands in the Azure CLImonitormodule.create,show, andupdatemodels for the singletondefaultcontainer. The CLI generator also derives the containerwaitcommand.create,show,list, anddeletemodels at component, resource group, and subscription scope.The scope-specific association models are consumed as unregistered atomic helpers by the public
az monitor trace-associationcommands, which dispatch based on--resource-uri. They do not add public scope-specific command groups.This change intentionally excludes unused association update models, container deletion, and unrelated workspace, metrics, or issue APIs. Existing workspace command models are unchanged.
Validation
aaz-dev command-model verify --aaz-path <checkout>.az monitor trace-association,az monitor account trace-container: Add preview command groups for distributed traces azure-cli#34263 from these models: all 15 atomic models produce its 16 command modules and 5 command groups exactly, including the derived containerwaitcommand.defaultcommand subgroups remain.Draft status
This is the companion metadata PR for Azure/azure-cli#34263, which owns orchestration, argument validation, destination reporting, and tests. It replaces Azure/azure-cli-extensions#10479, which is closed.
