This project collects all GStreamer android tutorials from the GStreamer official site, updates them to support newer Android SDK versions, and fully rewrites the sample code in Kotlin.
🚀Technical Specifications:
- Gradle distribution and build tool version: 8.13
- NDK version: 21.4.7075529
- GStreamer version: gstreamer-1.0-android-universal-1.20.7
Open Android Studio → SDK Manager → SDK Tools, then install NDK 21.4.7075529.
Download GStreamer Android 1.20.7 binaries from the official GStreamer website.
Extract the downloaded package and update the GSTREAMER_ROOT_ANDROID variable in each tutorial module's jni/Android.mk file to point to the extracted directory.
And update the gstAndroidRoot variable in gradle.properties also.
Select any tutorial module from the Android Studio run configurations and launch it.
⚠Note: The first run for each module usually takes longer for compiling the native libraries. Stay tuned!🙂
